Competitive and Spirited Battle for the 18th Annual Academic Bowl

The Academic Bowl stands as one of the most anticipated events in otolaryngology resident education—a dynamic showcase where knowledge meets camaraderie, and the brightest minds in the specialty come together in friendly yet fierce competition. More than just a test of clinical expertise, this annual tradition celebrates the collaborative spirit that defines our field, fostering connections between programs while highlighting the exceptional training that shapes the next generation of otolaryngologists.

This year's 18th Annual Academic Bowl was held Monday afternoon and moderated by Jeffrey P. Simons, MD, MMM, AAO-HNSF Immediate Past Coordinator of Education. Interactive, multiple-choice questions were generated through the AAO-HNSF Education Committees and designed to test residents' knowledge in different otolaryngology subspecialties, the business of medicine, and new clinical research findings.

The energy in the room was palpable as residents demonstrated their mastery across subspecialties, turning education into an engaging, collegial celebration of our shared commitment to excellence.

Congratulations to Louisiana State University Health Shreveport for securing the highest score and winning the AAO-HNSF 2025 Academic Bowl!
