The Annual Meeting features an array of education opportunities, including our distinctive series that run throughout the conference. These signature programming tracks offer unique formats and focused approaches to learning that complement the wide variety of sessions available.
From Ask the Experts, where you bring the questions, to the Great Debates, where leading voices argue opposite sides of the specialty’s toughest issues, these series offer diverse ways to engage with critical topics. Pardon the Oto-ruption (PTO) also returns—expanded this year to feature five game-show-style sessions.

Ask the Experts
Sometimes you don’t need another lecture. You need access to someone who has seen the problem hundreds of times. That’s the idea behind Ask the Experts. Bring your difficult case. Bring the question you’ve been discussing with your partners. These sessions flip the script: Instead of experts deciding what to teach, you decide what to ask.

Great Debates
In medicine, answers aren’t always clear-cut. Evidence evolves. Reasonable experts interpret the same data differently. That’s where the Great Debates come in. Experts take opposing positions on questions facing the specialty and make their strongest case.
Weigh the evidence. Challenge your assumptions. And decide who made the better argument.

Pardon the Oto-ruption (PTO)
"Throughout the practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, gaps in evidence leave clinicians without definitive answers to important questions. Yet it is often through spirited discussion, shared experiences, and thoughtful disagreement among colleagues that those areas of uncertainty begin to fill with valuable insights."
Cecelia Damask, DOAAO-HNSF Annual Meeting Program Coordinator
Combining the energy of a game show with the rigor of evidence-based medicine, Pardon the OTO-ruption (PTO) challenges expert panelists to respond to rapid-fire clinical questions, controversial topics, and real-world dilemmas. And attendees don’t just watch—they judge! Armed with green thumbs-up and red thumbs-down paddles, the audience helps steer the scoring, rewarding insightful answers or clever rebuttals and penalizing weak arguments or failed attempts at humor.
