Alongside the wide variety of sessions at the Annual Meeting, a set of distinctive series runs throughout the conference. Each signature programming track brings its own format and a focused approach to learning that complements the rest of the program.
Ask the Experts
Sometimes what you need isn’t another lecture. It’s access to someone who has seen the problem hundreds of times. That’s the thinking behind Ask the Experts. Bring your toughest case, or the question you’ve been talking through with your partners. These sessions flip the script: Rather than experts choosing what to teach, you choose what to ask.
Great Debates
Answers in medicine aren’t always clear-cut. Evidence evolves, and reasonable experts can read the same data differently. That’s where the Great Debates come in, as experts take opposing positions on questions facing the specialty and make their strongest case.
Weigh the evidence, challenge your assumptions, and decide who made the better argument.
Pardon the OTO-ruption (PTO)
“Throughout the practice of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, gaps in evidence leave clinicians without definitive answers to important questions,” said Cecelia Damask, DO, AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting Program Coordinator. “Yet it is often through spirited discussion, shared experiences, and thoughtful disagreement among colleagues that those areas of uncertainty begin to fill with valuable insights.”
Pardon the OTO-ruption (PTO) blends the energy of a game show with the rigor of evidence-based medicine. Expert panelists field rapid-fire clinical questions, controversial topics, and real-world dilemmas. And attendees don’t just watch—they judge! With green thumbs-up and red thumbs-down paddles in hand, the audience helps steer the scoring, rewarding insightful answers and clever rebuttals while penalizing weak arguments and failed attempts at humor.
