Lights, Camera, #OTOMTG26: Welcome to Los Angeles

The global otolaryngology community has arrived in Los Angeles for the AAO-HNSF 2026 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO. Whether you're here to present new research, trade ideas with colleagues, reconnect with mentors, or explore the latest innovations in the OTO EXPO, your presence is what makes this meeting, and our specialty, stronger.

"Serving as your President this year has been the high-water mark of my life, and there's no place I'd rather close it than here with all of you. My message all year has been simple: we are one specialty. This week, seek out someone whose practice looks nothing like yours. That's where our strength is, and that's how we protect this specialty for the next generation."

Day One Begins Saturday Morning

The meeting kicks off Saturday morning at 8:00 am with the Dr. K.J. Lee Opening Ceremony in West Hall A of the Los Angeles Convention Center, featuring Academy leadership, the Hall of Distinction class of 2026 induction, and Bobby Mukkamala, MD, practicing otolaryngologist from Flint, Michigan, and Past President of the American Medical Association giving the 2026 John Conley, MD Lecture on Medical Ethics. From there, the education, networking, and inspiration keep coming.

"Every year, this meeting becomes the center of the otolaryngology world. More than 6,000 colleagues from over 75 countries have come to Los Angeles, and the ideas exchanged here will find their way into offices and operating rooms around the globe."

A Program Built Around You

This year's program reflects the vision and dedication of Cecelia Damask, DO, Annual Meeting Program Coordinator, and the Annual Meeting Program Committee. It blends the rigorous education you expect with new formats designed to spark conversation and connection.

"People often ask me what the best part of the Annual Meeting is. My answer is always the same: it's you. It's the co-resident you haven't seen in ten years, the author whose paper you just cited sitting across the aisle, the conversation between sessions that turns into a collaboration. None of that happens on a screen. It only happens when we're together. So say hello, introduce yourself, and don't miss a thing."
